My Umbilical Cord!

My Umbilical Cord!
Good afternoon everyone...as most of us know the umbilical cord is that lifeline from a mother to a baby inside the mother’s womb. The baby gets fed and nourished by the mother through the umbilical cord. Well, let me first say...I am not pregnant! But I do have an umbilical cord.

My lifeline is also known as my headset. It is grey and black in colour. It has 2 ear phones and a microphone. And it has an attachment that keeps it in place on my head. It is my lifeline for what I do. It allows me to share knowledge and experiences with our learners but it also gives feedback to me.

I do this by speaking and listening through my umbilical cord. When the learners need something, I give it to them. When I need something from them, they give it to me. This is the same as how an umbilical cord works with a mother and baby.

I get to hear the wonderful progress our learners are making each class as they tell me through my headset. I have heard many things from learners who are searching for a more defined career path and I have heard the fun and excitement in the voices of our learners as they work towards their goals. It is this feedback that makes me try extra hard to give more...just as a mother wants to give only the best to her baby.

We had a very inspirational week here at SHLC and the great feedback and participation from our learners are pushing harder each week. We love it and let’s keep moving forward to reach all of our goals. I am personally looking forward to the long weekend and would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day and Happy Family Day!
