The 2 Keys to Life

I met Waubgeshig Rice...online!

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Waub online in a Centra classroom.

It was a really good experience to meet someone who had a dream, pursued it, and became successful with it. There were many positive messages that came from Waub. He talked about the importance of being humble and respectful. He talked about surrounding ourselves with the right people. And he talked about how cool it is to be able to do what you love.

And from the sounds of it, he inspired a few people immediately. That tells me the session was a success!

Waub also talked about the importance of reading to our kids and youth in our communities.

To echo Waub’s points, I would like to share an acceptance speech from Will Smith, the famous and talented Hollywood actor/artist. In this speech, Will Smith talks about 2 important keys to life. One of the points echoes Waub's thoughts on reading.

Click on the video and let me know what you think.

On behalf of SHLC, and all of our guests, we would like to thank Waub for his time and sharing his story.

Remember: “Love what you do and do what you love.” Will Smith.

I think that the comment made by Will Smith where he said that reading and running are the two keys to life, is absolutely excellent.

In life we meet trials that we feel we just can't get past. To compare it to the analogy of pushing through that winded spot when you reach it in running is such an eye-opener.

I like his comment that success comes to those who work hard. I certainly can agree with that. When we started our ministry 10 years ago, most people said it wouldn't last 2 weeks, because no one else who had started a ministry like ours had ever lasted. We kept doing the hard things over and over again and we've been going on now for 10 years.
